THE SCREWDRIVERS CAPTURE FIRST PLACE AGAINST THE BBD'S IN STATEN ISLANDS CAPODANNO DIVISION
Winning pitcher Luke Lamarca settled down to pitch 6 scorless innings after giving up a 3 run home run in the first inning to the BBD's Stephen Castano.
Screwdrivers brothers Nick, and Doug Ward combined to go 5 for 6 with 4 singles, and a home run, powering their team to the top spot in the fun leagues capodanno division, with a record of 5-0
The BBD's made it interesting with their last at bat in the seventh inning by scoring 4 runs. Pat Sloven's double plated 3 RBI's in the last frame, but in the end the screwdrivers found a way to protect their lead, winning the game 9-7.
